Built In Fires Built in fires are generally used in more contemporary settings than stoves, often without traditional mantle arrangements, and sometimes also without a hearth, they are available in woodburning and multifuel, glass fronted or open versions, as well as gas or electric models. This type of fire has become more mainstream over the last couple of years, and a wide variety of sizes are now available; from the smallest at around 400 mm wide up to around 1500 mm wide. Woodburning and multifuel models require a proper chimney or flue, gas versions can be balanced flue or vented through the wall. Most electric built in fires are wall mounted so do not require a chimney. |
